RICHARD R. BUDNEY JR., ESQ.
Partner
I was born and raised in Bridesburg, just a little north of Port Richmond. I grew up in an unique neighborhood which saw its share of everyday struggles yet still established a strong sense of community, and I knew that some day, I wanted to stay connected to the people and help them in some way.
As the youngest and only hearing sibling of a profoundly deaf sister and brother, my eyes were opened to the world of the deaf and hearing impaired and the day to day issues that affect those worlds, too. I decided that when I became a lawyer, I wanted to be able to represent all individuals who feel that they may not have a voice in the legal system, and not just because of their physical hearing issues.
As a Board member of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania’s Deaf Hearing Communication Centre, Inc. (DHCC), I manage and approve legal, budget, investing, and employment policies concerning the non-profit corporation. I also wrote articles for its monthly newsletter on disability issues and presented seminars on the Americans with Disabilities Act to the community.
I continue to offer my time to the DHCC and its members and clients in the form of free legal presentations on Estate Planning issues. In addition, I am a frequent lecturer on Estate Planning, Workers Compensation and Social Security Disability issues to the local and legal community.
I am ASL fluent and want the deaf and hard of hearing community to feel comfortable meeting and talking to me about their workers compensation, personal injury, estate planning, or social security disability issues. Of course, I apply those same standards to representing all of my "neighbor" clients.
At Mulvey-Budney Law, P.C., we are not a "billboard" law firm. You will always only talk to me and not some unknown associate about your legal matter. Give me a call. I would like to help you today.
